The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a press release on December 12, 2019 announcing HRTAC recieving $502.9M TIFIA Loan.  U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Choa stated "This $502.9 million federal investment in transportation infrastructure in the Hampton Roads region will promote economic growth while enhancing safety and mobility for area residents and travelers."
