HRTAC Executive Director Kevin Page presented on April 3, 2017 at an Industry Forum that was held in Hampton, Virginia to provide an opportunity for the highway road, bridge and tunnel construction industry to learn more about the proposed I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Expansion Project. Materials from the event are provided below.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (“VDOT”), in coordination with the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission (“HRTAC”), has issued a Request for Information (“RFI”) to solicit private-sector interest in and feedback on a potential opportunity to deliver the proposed I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Expansion Project (the “Project”). VDOT is the owner of the existing and proposed Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnels, as well as the delivery agent for the Project, whereas; HRTAC is the funding agent for the Project. The purpose of the RFI is to solicit industry input regarding the project’s procurement and delivery method, including potential design-build (DB), design-build-operate-maintain (DBOM), and design-build-finance-operate-maintain (DBFOM) solutions. All interested parties may provide written responses to the questions outlined in this document to VDOT. To do so, please reference Section 9 of the RFI and send the response letter to HRBTproject@vdot.virginia.gov by April 20, 2017, at 4:00pm Eastern time.
